Cybercom Group and H&H introduce the Annual Report of the next generation

Monday, April 23, 2007

Cybercom Group (publ) and Hallvarsson & Halvarsson (H&H) have jointly developed Sweden’s first Annual Report which completely derives from an Internet platform. Cybercom’s Annual Report will not be printed for distribution, but a printed paper copy is only a click or telephone call away.

To use the Internet as a platform instead of traditional printing technology is an important step towards quicker and more transparent financial reporting with significant advantages for the readers in the shape of flexibility, pedagogies, possibilities of optional engrossment and interaction. H&H has during the past ten years taken a head position in Europe in development of company websites thanks to the company’s combined specialist qualifications within financial communication and digital media.

”We are convinced that the Internet will continue to gain importance as a form of distribution of financial information and we are now preceding in something that I believe many will take for granted in 3-5 years”, says Anders Halvarsson, CEO Hallvarsson & Halvarsson.

Cybercom has chosen to do this for many reasons. Partly because this is in line with their branding strategy but also to make their financial communication more efficient.

”To abandon the traditional printed form of Annual Reports is completely in line with our brand profile. Cybercom’s projects are often in the frontline regarding technical advancements and it feels natural to also apply this in other areas, such as creating a digital Annual Report. In addition the web format will increase the pedagogical possibilities in explaining our work and our results” says Kristina Svensson, Manager Corporate Communication at Cybercom.

Strong Driving Forces

H&H has during the last couple of years placed large resources into developing a digital Annual Report as a complement to the traditional paper copy. Strong driving forces with both the receiver and sender speak for such a development:

  • The demands for transparency and in the same time combined increase demand for quick selection and individual engrossment makes financial communication extremely well suited in digital media.
  • The development is supported by International and National laws and standards (MiFID, XBRL etc).
  • The Annual Reports become more accessible for readers with functional impairments.
  • Internet based communication is an increasingly important part of the company’s profiling.
  • The demand for increasingly more information is inflating the amount of Annual Reports and therefore increasing production, distribution and environmental costs.
